Why “working” matters

Most gate problems at community pools aren’t trespassers — they’re residents whose fob stopped working, or a guest let in behind someone else. A sign that says a working credential is required gives your attendant and your management office a plain rule to point to, and nudges people to fix a dead fob before Saturday afternoon.

Add your management office’s phone number in the contact line so people with a dead fob or card know who reactivates it.

Which access type to pick

  • Key fob — the common HOA setup with a proximity reader on the gate.
  • Access card — the same idea, wallet-sized; popular at condos and apartments.
  • Phone app — for Bluetooth or cloud access systems.
  • Wristband — for pools that hand out season or day wristbands at the desk.
  • Gate code — keypad entry.
  • Photo ID — where an attendant checks residents against a list.

Printing it

Letter and Tabloid print on any office printer; laminate them or slip them into a clear sign holder for outdoor use. For a fence or gate, order the 18 × 24 in or 24 × 36 in size from a print shop on coroplast or aluminum composite — the PDF is vector, so it stays sharp at any size. Rules signs are usually posted at 18 × 24 in.

Questions

Pool access sign FAQ

Can I make a sign that says “access card required” instead of fob?
Yes. Choose Access card (or Phone app, Wristband, Gate code or Photo ID) and the headline and icon change to match. You can also type your own headline.
Where should a pool access sign go?
Next to the card reader or keypad on the outside of the gate, at eye level, so people read it while they reach for the reader. A second copy inside the gate reminds people not to let others in behind them.
Does the PDF stay sharp on a large sign?
Yes. The download is a vector PDF, so a print shop can print it at 18 × 24 or 24 × 36 inches without blurring.

Signs set the rules. Attendants keep them.

The Pool Attendant Company staffs HOA and community pools with trained attendants who check people in, apply guest limits and log every incident.
