Use a new color each season

The quickest way to stop old passes from working is to make them look different. Pick a new color style and update the year in the title each season; at the gate, the attendant only has to check the color. Pair resident cards with guest pass cards in a different color so the two are never confused.

Printing the cards

Ten 3.5 × 2 inch cards print per Letter sheet in the standard business-card layout. Use perforated card stock or cardstock trimmed by hand, and print at actual size.

Should residents carry a pool pass if we have key fobs?

A fob opens the gate; a pass card helps the attendant confirm who is a resident when the gate is open or someone follows another person in. Many communities use both.

Can I put a photo on the pass?

Not in this template. If your community wants photo IDs, ask your management company about badge printing; this card covers the name, address and household.
